Following their victory in the Manchester derby last week, Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night, taking three points away from the stadium.
Manchester United secured a comfortable victory thanks to goals from Brian Mbomo, Patrick Dolgu, and Matthäus Cunha. After the match, newly appointed Manchester United manager Michael Carrick expressed his pride in his players while also issuing a warning to the team to remain humble.
Carrick admitted that facing two title favorites in just two weeks was no easy feat. He said, "We knew it wouldn't be a perfect game; the match was unpredictable. But I'm incredibly proud of the belief, confidence, and team spirit the players showed under such high pressure away from home."
Carrick highly praised Dolgu 's brilliant goal, describing it as fluid and breathtaking, especially the way it was finished.
Carrick specifically praised Cunha, who came off the bench to score the winning goal, for his professional attitude: "Matthäus didn't start for the second consecutive game, but he turned his disappointment into motivation. He represents the team atmosphere this week, and he fully deserves this winning moment."
Despite the team's morale being boosted by consecutive victories against strong opponents, Carrick remained clear-headed. He emphasized, "There are still bigger games and challenges ahead, and we have a lot of room for improvement. We must remain humble and keep moving forward."
